we need to send sms in various indian languages, if there is a unicode support for Frontlinesms let us know.
or can we enable front line in a indian language?
Hi Ken,
I am facing the same issues, i have changed the keyboard layout to hindi inside ubuntu which works well when i type in applns. like firefox and text editor but it types in english only in FrontlineSMS.
i've installed Hinid Indic IME 1 ( download from net) where you can write in Hindi across all applications and even in Frontline and you also have to make changes in regional settings in control panel to make use of Hindi Language. This will solve hindi typing in frontline.
As ken suggested i am doing the hindi translation file & will send across and hope that should workout
hi girish,
I am using this Ubuntu Linux.
I am having a option same as changing setting for language.
That works fine for all othe applns.
Eg., It types in english inside frontline_linux even if the keyboard is changed as france.
Checkout the screenshot for both hindi and french.
Hi Ken and Alex,
We have reached our project deadline for http://mysmenews.com/
Its success depends hugely on Frontline SMS.
Please update on the unicode in linux, guys
Regards
Sakthivel
Or you can tell us how do we type in a foreign language in FrontlineSMS?
For now the English UI wont matter, just the input language.
Do i need to change anything in the properties file?
Hi,
Thank you very much, i just cut and copy through
text editor its working fine.
Though it shows squares in send console, on receiver side its displaying properly
sorry for previous mails.
Thanks a lot.
Okay, so can you confirm that FrontlineSMS *does* send and receive Hindi successfully, and that the problem is your computer not allowing you to type messages in Hindi directly into the application? I'm just trying to confirm whether the problem is with FrontlineSMS or your computer. If it's with your computer I'm not sure what we can suggest, but I'll let the developers have a think about that.
So, how about this for a temporary fix. If you type the message you want to send in an external application, and then cut and paste it into FrontlineSMS, it sounds like that will work. It's not perfect but it gets you up and running, correct?
Something seems to be missing from your computer to allow messages to be typed in Hindi in the application - FrontlineSMS seems to be doing the message support without any problem.
frontline has some start up errors. can you send link to download the software again. i've installed Hinid keyboard so i can type hindi even in Frontline.
I will test Hindi message and complete the Hindi translation file by weekend.
