FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.
SMS Gateway - Tanzania
For a client in Tanzania we need to provide an SMS gateway service. Requirements are as follows:
* sending to gateway from Tanzania at standard local costs to the senders
* notification of received SMS-es to our web application (preferably via http request)
* sending from our web application to your gateway (preferably via http request)
* delivery from your gateway to Tanzanian customers
The estimated volumes of SMS-es per month would be several thousands incoming and over one hundred thousand outgoing.
At first we looked at hosting a Forntline or Kannel based server in Tanzania. The hosting environment seems unreliable and expensive though. Second thought was to host a server in South Africa. Problem with that solution is that Tanzanian senders to the gateway will pay too much. Current thought is to use an international gateway provider.
