Hi guys,

Sorry to be asking for tips but I've got a bit of strange behaviour on my OSX installation.

If I connect the Sony Ericsson K800i via USB then I can send texts fine, but not receive them.

If I try connecting via Bluetooth I get an error that says "The Bluetooth network is unavailable"

I get a bunch of prompts from the mobile when pairing the devices about whether I want to use the mobile as a modem (yes?) and whether I want remote control (desktop?).

Unfortunately, still no joy.

Am I missing something obvious? Tried it through VMware running XP but my machine is just too slow.

I'll try and source a PC from somewhere this week.

Cheers,

James

Hey James

I'm not personally familiar with how this all works on OSX, but know that with Windows machines you need to install the PC Suite which comes with the Ericsson phone in order for it all to load up and work. I doubt that they have drivers for OSX (I may be wrong), so I'd try the Windows approach and see how you get on.

Let me know either way!

Hmm.. just got a blue screen and restart on an XP machine after selecting "not new user" and "don't import old data".

It's the same error I got running XP on a mac with VMware, so I'm thinking it might not be my setup.

I got round it last time by selecting "new user" but will try that now and see what happens.

Woo hoo!

The problem was the mobile. I plugged in a different phone - a Sony Ericsson 750i and bingo, it works right out of the box with my Macbook running osx 10.6

My advice to anyone else, if you're getting blue screens on two different machines ... it's probably your phone.

Looking forward to having fun with the platform (and getting more involved with this community).

J
