I've set up a FLSMS activity for a Crisis Mapping course I'm teaching in Boston. I'm using version 220.127.116.11 (which has worked great for me before), and I've got an AT&T sim card in a Zoom 7.2M Tri-band Modem. During the past 24 hours, the system has worked fine, but now I'm unable to receive inbound messages (I can send outbound). The Zoom driver on my computer also is not receiving inbound but is able to send outbound.
I've made sure that "use for receiving" is checked off in the Settings for Connected Phone box in the Frontline platform. I've also checked the appropriate Trouble Shooting guides, and I've tried to restart my computer and the program (and I haven't changed anything about my computer such as programs or updates) and not sure what to do. I know that the Zoom modem works because everything was running fine yesterday and I've used it in previous deployments.
Also, I want to make sure that all the messages coming in are not lost. What is the best way to ensure this?
Just replying swiftly because Nairobi has already shut down for the evening. Is there a reason you're using 1.6? We actually stopped supporting that in 2012, so if you're using it for a course you might want to upgrade? The most recent version of FrontlineSMS is available from the website. We'll be able to help troubleshoot that more effectively.
Thanks for the reply! I'll switch over. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that, but I realize that was the risk I took by using the old version! :)
