FrontlineSMS let users send, receive and manage SMS over a mobile network.

I've just loaded the program, and when i signed up I did so under the US because that is where our nonprofit is located-- however, we want to use this tech all over Africa. Can I still do that? and if so, do I simply put in the numbers for contacts, no matter where they are located and just deal with sms costs. Does this work the same way for conducting surveys in countries in Africa?

Appreciate the help!

Hi Lissan

Yes, you can use the software wherever you like now that you're registered. You can also send messages to anywhere in the world, although (of course) you'll have to pay international SMS costs to do so (and if you want people to respond they will have to text back to a US number, meaning they also pay international charges).

I'd recommend looking at setting up an IntelliSMS or Clickatell account to send your messages, which is much cheaper and quicker (but requires your computer to be connected to the Internet). There are details on how to do this in the "Settings" section of the Help files.

Best of luck with this!
