FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

Pardon my ignorance. What am I to say to potential users of FLSMS who say "We don't use GSM, we have 3G"?

It seems to me that FrontlineSMS's support is tied to the phone/modem used & so is not limited to GSM alone - ie CDMA, 3G et al should be OK, as long as the phone is supported/tested with FLSMS?

Also, if my thinking is right, 3G phones fallback to GSM modes if they are not able to get 3G connections. Am I right there?

Hey David

Good to hear from you, as always.

I don't know about the specifics, but FrontlineSMS *will* drive a 3G modem. Just as you can send SMS on a 3G phone, SMS is supported within 3G modems. CDMA is one we don't know too much about, since we can't test in the UK (no CDMA networks here), so if you have any news on that front, please let us know!
