Hi every one! we are looking at a deployment which could recieve around 400/SMS per hour(peak hour) and around 5000 + SMS per day
I have tried submitting frontlinesms form to a commercial SMS but the database is showing the message in an unknown format how do I get it decoded?
Please help me
As Ken says here, that volume of messages may not be realistic for FrontlineSMS.
As for your issues with "unknown format" problem, I think you'll have to give a more detailed description of your setup, and exactly what the issue is with messages.
How well that volume of messaging works is largely going to depend on how 'immediate' your needs are. As Ken said in another thread, handling that amount of traffic is going to tax any GSM modem and forget about a connected mobile phone. However, you might be able to get away with an aggregation pushing through HTTP and using FLSMS to send back. I think when we looked at doing a large volume project like this, that was what we looked at. I'm not sure that FLSMS can initiate outbound SMS yet so you might have to wait until the next version.
As to your database problem, what do you mean? What errors are you receiving and what database? Give more details and I'm sure we'll be able to help you out.
What would you recommend for a countrywide election monitoring system using SMS(population 4.5 million). You mentioned that would be impossible for the FrontlineSMS system. What would you say is the best way?
