FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

I had FrontlineSMS installed, I did refer to the list of phones that can work with the software, and I opt for Nokia 3500C as I need "sending only" tools.
Phone is connected to the computer through USB, detected by Frontlinesms but fail to connect.
“Doesn’t move to the upper box”
Any help will be very appreciate

Hi Tarak

Have you consulted the "Troubleshooting" section in the Help files?

There are a number of tips in there as to why the phone might not connect.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks.

Ken

Yes I did check and follow all mentionned steps and possibilities, but still no luck.

So, does the phone work with Nokia PC Suite, which should have come with the USB cable/handset? If you can give us as much information as possible, we can take a look. We may need you to send your system logs at some stage (which is done through the Help menu).

Thanks.

Yes the phone works with PC suite, but I did uninstalled to not interfer with FrontlineSMS, as per some recommendations in the Forum discussions.
I will try to send you the system logs later.

Thanks

Hi Tarak,

After checking out your log file, we were able to find the exception being thrown:
[SmsModem :: COM12] DEBUG [04/03/09 10:34:11] net.frontlinesms.SmsModem.connect(SmsModem.java:200) - Failed to connect
java.util.NoSuchElementException
at java.util.StringTokenizer.nextToken(StringTokenizer.class:0)
at org.smslib.handler.CATHandler.getStorageLocations(CATHandler.java:158)
at org.smslib.CService.connect(CService.java:158)
at net.frontlinesms.SmsModem.connect(SmsModem.java:200)
at net.frontlinesms.SmsModem.run(SmsModem.java:200)

We will investigate it further, since we haven't seen it before. It might be something specific to your phone. If so, we might need to create a specific AT Handler for this phone model.

Thanks for sending us this information. Hopefully we will get back to you very soon.

Thanks,
Kadu

Hi Tarak,

Try connecting to this phone using "Manual Configuration" with the AT Handler called "Nokia_S40_3ed".

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Tarak,

Have you tried any of the other handlers with custom config? It's worth seeing if one of them works.

Cheers,

Alex
