FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

I am working on a project whereby people will be registering for services via SMS, I have managed to use HTTP trigger to save data into MySQL DB. My main problem is having double registration, so I have come up with a check, whereby if someone is already registered, I want my web application(in PHP), to send an SMS saying you are already registered. I have managed to use PHP header function to send the text. The problem is that I want the whole process to run in the background without involving browsers, of which I have not been to accomplish. Someone please help. Thank you.

Thanks, I am looking forward.

Hi Kagai,

We are currently working on a Subscription Manager feature that will allow users to easily set up an activity for contacts to join or leave a subscription group using defined keywords. This feature will be in next release which should be available in the next three weeks or so.
I believe once you have set up frontlinesms and configured it the way you want it, you can close the browser window. As long as there is an indicator on the desktop tray showing that frontlinesms is still running, HTTP requests will continue to be processed in the background.

I hope this answers your question. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you come across any issues.

Thanks,
Michael.

Thanks Michael for the feedback, I will also keep looking to find some kind of hack before your scheduled update. I will keep you posted if anything comes along, as of now I will continue working on other aspects of the project.

Thank you.
