FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

I cannot connect using my new Huawei E3131 modem using version 2.1.3 and Windows 7.

The modem works with my sim card because I've used it to connect to the internet.

I'm not sure what to try next as I've tried to install a number of times.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The SIM card works because I am able to access the web and email with it plugged in. The software for the modem seems to be web based and so I have been closing this to try and make sure it isn't running at the same time. There was noting obvious running when I checked task manager so I'm a bit stumped.

Regards,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Please also send us a screen shot of the status tab. We would like to see the messages that appear when you have connected the modem.

Thanks,

Michael.

It doesn't connect with the modem when I click auto detect and I'm not sure what port to pick - I tried COM 1 - 6 and got this message.

Hi Matt,

That's not the correct page. That screen shot is the 'Phone and Connections page'. Please click the Status tab then send us a screen shot of that.

Thanks,

Michael.

Sorry - here you go.

Hi Matt,

On the Status tab, can you click on the Detect Modems button, then wait for about a minute till that section for Port Description is populated with data. Then take a screen shot of that and send it to us. Also make sure that the modem software is not running as it will prevent FrontlineSMS from detecting the modem. You can confirm that the modem application is not running by opening the Task manager.

Sorry for not mentioning this earlier.

Thanks,

Michael.

Hi,

I did what you asked and I've included a screenshot of Task Manager as well.

Matt

Hi Matt,

Thank you for sending the log files. The development team is now analyzing the problem. I will be in touch shortly.

Thanks,

Michael.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for sending us the screen shots and log files. Please bear with us as we try to find a solution to the problem. It seems like the modem port name has some issues. Please send us screen shots of the following:

1. Windows Task Manager with the Processes tab open. You may maximize it so that we can see the full list of processes running in the background.

2. Open the Device Manager and expand the following nodes: Modems, Network Adapaters & Ports. Send us a screen shot of that.

3. On FrontlineSMS on the status bar, click the Detect Modems button then wait for about 60 seconds. Tell us what happens. If some modem info does appear, please take a screenshot and send it to use.

Thanks,

Michael.
