Data from Frontline forms

Hi Forum,

Am getting data submitted from forms on phones but it does not get to frontlinesms. On opening the modem provider software all the messages are queued on the sim location showing data from forms.

How can i get it to frontlinesms. It is really annoying users and they are almost thinking that the system does not work at all.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for getting in touch about this. I'm sorry  to hear that you are having this issue. It sounds like your modem could be picking up incoming SMS/ Forms before FrontlineSMS gets to them, and this could be removing the SMS in the process. Have you tried closing the modem software, and looking in the modem settings to stop it from removing messages after it's read them? 

I'm not certain this is the issue, and since you're using Forms there may be something else going on here. Could I ask, which version of FrontlineSMS are you using? And which modem /provider? If you can provide this further information, and also send your user logs (via the Help menu in FrontlineSMS) I will check in with our developer team to see if they have any further suggestions.

Hi Florence,

Am using version 1.6.16.3 with Huawei modem. If i clear the form text data in the sim, form data comes in perfectly but of course i loose the form data that had already got into the sim.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply here. Just to check, have you tried selecting to 'Delete messages from phone, after receiving' (which is an option found in the phones tab by right clicking on your connected device)?
