FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.
I didn't see these on the list of phones that work, but was just wondering if anyone had tried it with these and got it to work?
Thanks!

The smarter the phone, the less likely it is that it'll work as the sending device (the one attached to the computer) although both can receive SMS and so will be able to communicate with FrontlineSMS. We recommend low-end phones like Nokia C101s, although the best fit for the sending device is a modem.
Check out our device database, too, and do add to it if you can!

Just to make sure I understand (because I'm still fairly new to FrontlineSMS), smartphone users (iPhone, Android, etc.) CAN receive messages from FrontlineSMS, it's just that the sending device CANNOT be a smartphone, correct?
I'm working on a textline project in New York City with young people who have cell phones--some have smart phones some do not. From what I understand, they all can still receive messages (smartphone or not) from my organization as long as I send from a FrontlineSMS approved device OR from a modem. Is this correct?

That's absolutely right, on all counts.
Good luck! Your program sounds like a great idea, so we would love to hear more about it as it progresses.
Best wishes and happy New Year
Laura
