FrontlineSMS:Radio is based on the core functions of FrontlineSMS, but customises some elements for the context of radio DJs, presenters and station producers. In particular, we've learnt from radio users that this is about visualising data streams while live-on-air (e.g. the results of a poll). We also recognise that multiple DJs may enter the same installation, so the :Radio software has spaces for DJs to organise their own shows.
FrontlineSMS:Radio is development at the moment undergoing some testing but it will eventually be free to download from the website later this year. You just pay for messages in the normal way. I'd be delighted to invite you to the closed trial in a few months if you're interested to get an advanced insight so you can see for yourself!
Let me know! Amy \~/
Hi Amy! I am returning to the use of Frontline, and seeing anything new that you joined. If I would try the FrontlineSMS Radio. I am coordinator of a community radio station in Venezuela and also enthusiastic communications technologies. On the other hand, is there anyway to make the FrontlineSMS can send messages faster? only managed to send about 5 or 7 minutes. With other software I managed to send up to 50 per minute ... Let me know. Thank you!
Which version of FrontlineSMS are you currently using? Version 2.2, now available from our website, often behaves better with modems as we've made some changes to it.
One option is to plug in more than one modem so that the software can use more than one at once to send messages. Unfortunately devices sending to the network can only send 8 messages per minute maximum, and sometimes less depending on the device and the network.
Let us know how you get on with v2.2? We can also look at giving you the beta of FrontlineSMS:Radio if you would like.
