FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

I understand that you can integrate FrontlineSMS with either Clickatell or IntelliSms to send messages through the internet. I was just wondering what the advantages would be to integrating the two systems as opposed to just using Clickatells or IntelliSMS applications, independent of frontline?

Hi Kristin

There are a few advantages. FrontlineSMS has a more user-friendly front-end, and can be used whenever you're offline (Clickatell and IntelliSMS require you to be online). You also need a credit card to buy messages whereas with FrontlineSMS you pay your operator in the normal way.

There's also additional functionality available (group forwarding, auto replies, message forwarding and so on). Receiving - which you pay for with the online services - is also free with FrontlineSMS if you have an attached GSM phone or modem. It's also worth adding that, with an established and growing user community, there's a much better support mechanism available and a place for you to share and learn.

Of course you can still use either online service independently if you only need to send messages, you have a credit card and you have a reliable Internet connection.
