FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

I have just downloaded the software and I have a few questions about importing contacts. If we already have a database on excel, is there a way to import that information into FrontLineSMS?

Hi Cathal,

Welcome to the FrontlineSMS community. Thank you for posting in the forum. You can save the excel sheet as a comma separated values, or .CSV file. The file should have at least have the following columns in the header : Name, Mobile Number.

To import contacts ,click the settings link, then go to the General tab. The import section will enable you to import the contacts file in csv format.

If you experience difficulties importing contacts, please let me know.

Thanks,

Michael.

Thanks a million Michael, this worked just fine and I have already imported some contacts. Just one follow up question: is there any limit to the number of contacts I can import or that FrontlineSMS can handle? Is there a maximum number per group?

Hi Cathal,

Great to hear the import worked out fine. There is no limit to the number of contacts that FrontlineSMS can handle. There is also no limit to the maximum number per group.

Thanks,

Michael.
