I cannot send forms to mobile phones when I change the database settings to MySQL

Hey!

I have changed the database settings to MySQL details on frontlineSMS; but I cannot send forms to my mobile phone. The message for sending the new forms remains pending and never gets to the mobile phone.

Meanwhile, on the SQLlite mode, fronlineSMS send forms to my mobile phone and i receive the forms.

Can anyone help with this?

Thank you.

Hi Maduka,

Are you sure you've made no other changes to your system? Perhaps you had an old FrontlineSMS database in MySQL which is causing problems? We'll take a look here, and see if we have the same issue.

Alex
Hello Alexander,

Thank you for your response.

I did not make any other changes apart from entering the required parameters in the database...

Database Type: MySQL
Database Name: election
Database Server: localhost
Database Port: 3306
Database Username: root
Database Password: xxxx

That was all I did. I also cleared the database and tried it again. I have also done a fresh installation on a new PC, still same result.

I shall await your response after you've tried it.

Thank you.
Hi Maduka,

Thanks for the info :¬) Can you send us your logs? You can do that by selecting "Submit Error Report" from the Help menu.

Cheers,

Alex
Hello Alexander,

Hi Maduka,

Thanks for the logs. It looks like the problem is caused by the version of MySQL you are using. FrontlineSMS should integrate okay with MySQL v5. What version do you have?

Alex
Hello Alexander,

I'm using MySQL Version 5.1.36. It came bundled with the WAMP sever.

Did it work on yours?

Please let me know if it did.

Thank you.
Hi Manduka,

Sorry for the slow response on this. It seems this is an issue between FrontlineSMS and your version of MySQL when attempting to execute the SQL command "CREATE TABLE tablename IF NOT EXISTS". I'd recommend you try the latest 1.6.x build of FrontlineSMS - you can get it from http://www.frontlinesms.com/download/

Alex

Hi Lester,

how did you setup your MySQL database? Using a server tool like "Wamp"? I can see a "Communications link failure" in your logs, so make sure your database is reachable, and that you configuration is alright in FrontlineSMS.

Best,
Morgan
