Hello!

I am trying to import an Excel CSV file into Frontline 1.6.16.1.  I want all users to be imported as Active because I need to send a group text blast.  My CSV file has a Status column which says "True" for each entry (I have also tried writing "Active" as well).  During the import preview it shows all contacts as Active, however, once the import completes, all contacts are marked as Dormant.  Is there a way to fix this other than manually going through and changing the status of each contact?

Thank you!!!!!!

Hi jaye

Sorry you're having problems with this. If you set a couple of the contacts manually to "Active" and then export the file, how is the "Status" field displayed? I'm guessing if you replicate the field value exactly in the file you use to import, then it should work. If you've already tried this, then let us know.

If you still have no joy we'll get one of the developers to take a look - they're both on the road for the next few days so may be a little slower to respond than usual.

Cheers.

Ken
Hi everyone,

The values for the Active column should be "true" or "false". Capitalisation should not matter. Jaye, if you're happy to do so, please send your CSV file to frontlinesupport@kiwanja.net and we'll take a look and see what's going on.

Thanks so much for the help! Ken, your suggestion worked! I am still a bit confused because the field value in the exported file which I copy and pasted exactly matched the field values in the file I was trying to import that wasn't working. Is it possible that there is something embedded in the value that I cannot see? Thanks again for all your help!

Jaye
Hi Jaye,

glad it's now working.
However, I don't understand why it didn't before... I guess there should be a difference between the old and new values that you didn't notice. Weird.

Anyway, enjoy now :)

Hi,

Is there a reason why imported contacts aren't set to active by default? I tried importing using just the name and phone number under both versions 1.6.12 and 1.6.16.1 and the contacts were all set to dormant. I was frustrated that it required an additional field to be useful. Things should work by default, no?

Thanks,
Ryan
Hi Ryan,

I guess you're right, it should be active by default...
This will be "fixed" in the next version.

Morgan
