FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS let users send, receive and manage SMS over a mobile network.

Today, we’re proud to introduce FrontlineCloud: the next generation of FrontlineSMS, the world’s most popular professional text message management platform.

Since we last checked in, you all have been up to some incredible work. Our users come from over 135 countries, connecting on hundreds of mobile networks using thousands of devices in order to reach millions of people.

And we recently reached 100,000 downloads of FrontlineSMS – 75,000 of those in the last year alone. Seeing these numbers reinforced our belief that we’re on the right track; that mobile messaging is increasingly being used as a professional tool. With this in mind, we wanted to deliver to you a product that could meet even more of your needs – that would marry the power of the internet with the reach of mobile phones.

FrontlineCloud lets you easily send, receive, and manage SMS messages and data from anywhere in the world. FrontlineCloud makes life simpler with a quick set-up process, more ways to connect to mobile networks, and all of the sophisticated data management available through the cloud. It brings the convenience of the web to your text message communications, all for a low monthly rate.

A 30-day trial of FrontlineCloud is free, and you can create your account in minutes. Get started now!

Connections

FrontlineCloud makes it possible to send SMS anywhere in the world. Connect to almost any network, anywhere, through one of our web-based service partners, or using an Android phone connected to the mobile network you want to send messages through. For two-way messaging you can lease a local "virtual" number in more than 35 countries; send and receive through a Android phone; purchase and virtually register a SIM card or work with us to set up a custom connection with a partner.

What Do I Need to Get Started?
All you need to get started with FrontlineCloud is a valid e-mail address and an Internet connection. We'll ask you to complete a short form and confirm via e-mail. That's it! After you sign up for the first time, you'll be able to log in through our homepage, or directly at cloud.frontlinesms.com.

Pricing

FrontlineCloud is available for only $10 per month. There are a lot of reasons for that, but there’s one that’s more important than the rest: we want to work for you, our users, and you alone. In every company around the world, the people who pay for the service make the decisions that matter. For us to be able to give you the pricing, tools, data protections, and customer service we believe you deserve, we need that to be you. This price covers the cost of tool development maintenance, premium user support, and web-hosting your account.
FrontlineSMS is, and always has been, free. If you'd like to learn more about FrontlineSMS, please click here.

If you know us, you know that we care most about connecting you. We believe that’s the first step and the best way to begin building the better world that we all want to see. FrontlineSMS and FrontlineCloud are how we know how to do that- and, as you have for eight years, we hope you’ll keep helping us figure out how to do it better.

All of which is to say, we hope you like it.

Best wishes,

The FrontlineCloud team.

Hi Lester

Thanks for your message. This is the first report we've had from a user of problems with SMSSync - I've referred this to our Dev team and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Thanks

Laura

Hi Lester,

The SMSSync functionality should be working fine, but there is a bug with the URL we display on the connection list, which is probably what caused your issue. We'll be releasing a fix by tomorrow which will correct this. To get your connection working now, please try the following steps:

  1. In FrontlineCloud, set up the SMSSync connection. The only fields you need to change are secret and name. Click next then save to create the connection. You can skip this step if you had already configured one.
  2. In the list of connections, you will see your configured SMSSync connection, with a URL displayed below it. This is the sync URL that you should enter into SMSSync, but it is currently slightly incorrect and should be edited as follows:
    1. The original URL will look something like http://cloud.frontlinesms.com:80/api/1/smssync/210/quiet, where "quiet" is your secret word
    2. You should change this URL by changing 'http' to 'https', and remove the ':80'. The URL from the example above would therefore be https://cloud.frontlinesms.com/api/1/smssync/210/quiet
  3. Follow the rest of the steps in the SMSSync setup guide to complete your connection setup.

This should get the connection working fine. Apologies for the confusion this caused and let me know if you're still having problems with it.

Thanks,

Sitati

Hi Sitati, thanks for your answer. I just have a question, the edition of the source  https://cloud.frontlinesms.com/api/1/smssync/210/quiet

Will be on the android SMSsync or in the FrontlineSMS Cloud?

If the correction is in the SMSsync, i did it, but doesn't work.

Thanks for your support.

Lester.

Hi Laura, do you know if the problem with the path for sync FrontlineSMS with Android is done?

Hi Lester,

The URL should be entered on the SMSSync client side. Could you email to support@frontlinesms.com? We'll use your email address to have a look at your connection and confirm what the issue might be.

Thanks,

Sitati

Hello, I have a problem in cloudFrontlineSMS

I m well connected with my nexmo account and working except the "add substitution expression" feature.

the sms is not replacing ${recipient_name} with recipient name like in FrontlineSMS. what is the problem? is it because i m still on trial or it is a bug?

Hi Nkurunziza,

I apologize for the late response to this.

Just to get an idea of the context where this is happening, are you sending a quick message or creating an activity? If you are creating an activity, which type of activity is it?

Regards,

Geoffrey
