FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

Trying to set up email account. Created a specific gmail account ( I enabled POP in my new email account settings as well as IMAP). Then in frontlinesms email settings I entered smtp.gmail.com and 465 for account server port and ticked SSL. When I save these settings it gives me the following message:

"Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.gmail.com, port: 465java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out" I saved anyway.

I then tested by sending an email reminder to one of my contacts and the message appears as a failed outgoing message from my newly created account.

Anyone can help?

PS I did my settings from the setting menu and I don't see the same window as the one displayed here : http://help.frontlinesms.com/manuals/1.6.16.3/keywordActions/emails...

Hi Ferdinand,

Could you send a screenshot of the window you are using to configure the email connection? Also, please confirm which version of the software you are using.
