Testing on T-Mobile in the US - Send/Receive SMS Issues

I'm not sure if it is to do with T-Mobile or not but I'm suspicious - I'm not able to send or receive SMS's via FLSMS, and T-Mobile explicitly says (I noticed after the fact) that it does not support sending and receiving. Does anyone have experience with either T-Mobile in the US, or just being able to connect the modem but not being able to send and receive SMS?

Hi Claudia,

Just to add to Sila's response above, you could also check that the SIM has credit; try putting the SIM into a regular phone and try sending and receiving. This will isolate whether this issue is with the network/SIM or not. Please let us know how you get along, and ask if you have further questions.

Thanks everyone! To confirm - it is a T-Mobile restriction, and according to them there is absolutely no way around this using their Rocket device (GSM modem - g4). I am planning to return it and buy an unlocked variety online - I have more time than I anticipated to test in the US, so I'll order one. Do you have a suggestion as to the easiest to setup on a mac? Claudia we have a list of devices which work well with FrontlineSMS here:

If you can get hold of one, we find Huawei e-Series modems work well. I use a Mac and have never had any trouble. Our US-based team ordinarily would be able to sell you an unlocked modem of a type we know works but we've run out - we could ship one from the US at cost for you? Let us know.
