FrontlineSMS

FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.

Hi,

While trying to send a completed 'form' from FLsms to my mobile 'sony ericsson w960', i only got a text msg saying :
'There is a new form available for frontlinesms: frm_name' .
I have the 'form client: Frontline Forms ' on my mobile phone.I clicked on 'Get New Forms' after which i got a msg on my server saying "AAI+gSUAAAECAQAlDQIAAA==" but FLsms never responded back with the 'form' .
Am i missing out any step here ? Pls help

Thanks
Varun

Hi Varun,

It's hard to tell at this stage what the problem could be, but there are a few options:
* The FrontlineForms application does not have permission to receive SMS
* The w960i is not compatible with the FrontlineForms application
* The network is failing to deliver the Forms SMS
* There is a problem with the AT&T modem

If it is possible, it would be worth trying to install FrontlineForms on a different phone, and see if this works. Also it might be worth changing the modem, or using SIM cards on a different network, although this is less likely to have an effect.

Sorry I can't offer more specific advice,

Alex
Thanks Alex,

Will try out all possibilities to make it work and get back to you.

I have had the same problems, but all the issues occurred after forms had been working fine for 3 weeks.

I've re-installed the FLSMS app on the client phone, reset network access permission, and deleted the FLSMS database, but nothing works. It seems that FLSMS receives requests for new forms, but won't send the forms to the client phone. I'm not sure what to do.

Any thoughts?
I initially posted on this issue a few days ago (FLSMS not sending the form to the phone after FormSend request done in Forms tab of FLSMS). I seem to have figured out what the issue was!

What seemed to work for me was including the country code in the contact listing for the contact the form was being sent to. I got the same AAI+gCUAAA.... garbled text when I used only the local area code of 081-xxxx-xxx but it wasn't until I added (+264, Namibia) +264-81-xxxx-xxx that FLSMS was able to send the form back to the phone. Hope this helps!

I also have found a very similar solution.

I had added the country code to the contact information, but had left in an unnecessary zero (i.e. +855-077-xxx-xxx). Sending messages from the contact to FLSMS was fine and vice versa, except for forms. It even worked without the country code.

What I ended up doing was changing the contact number to the exact same number in the sender information (under the messages tab), if that makes any sense. After making this change, the client phone was able to receive forms.

Thanks for putting me on the right path.

Cheers,
Jeff
Cool you guys could make it work..i tried to prefix the country code and a '+' like
+1xxxxxxxxxx and i see something different now . ...The appln responds to the same recipient number with message body = 89020876637862766A68670005657472656700066E......
which is a long sequence of hexa stream i suppose ...but don't really get the 'form' on my phone.
Can any of you confirm this in the 'Messages' tab? I want to know if you guys see a similar number sequence being sent when there is a request from client phone. If so, i can test the same scenario with other phones.

Thanks,
Varun
I had a similar number sequence in the messages tab after a request from the client phone.

I actually received a form on the phone though. I hope it works on your other phones.
