Very Slow Sending - FLSMS version 2 using a Sierra Wireless Modem GL6110

Hi Folks

I'm new here and have just discovered FLSMS.

I send out about 1,000 text messages per week to our supporters with a short message from our charity with a text donation code, so supporters can respond with their donation. Until now I have been using a mobile phone, but using a phone for this volume has it's issues. I'm pleased that I have discovered FLSMS and have gone out to buy a Sierra Wirless GL6110 modem and setup FLSMS v2 on my Win 7 pc.

Here is the issue....

I hav ejust launched my very first text campaign on FLSMS however sending is extremely slow, about 1 SMS per minute!

Can someone please guide me on how to increase speed... The modem has been auto configured by FLSMS. Is this a modem issue? Computer Issue? Network Issue?

TIA

S. Leitner

Thanks Sila

Any idea on how to improve this? It's defiantly not a network issue.

They are quite mixed actually, some are and some are not.

The problem is, how can update 1500 numbers on my database without doing them each manually in FLSMS, their is no way to update numbers with an import, or is there?

Thanks Sila for your advise, I have killed my database and started from scratch, this time making sure that all the numbers are in international format.

This has indeed improved the performance somewhat that 2 messages are now being sent per minute! Still need more tips on how to improve to get to the suggested 6-8 messages per minute.

Any more useful tips?

Thanks

Shragi

Hi Shragi

Thanks for this. We want to spend some time looking at modem speed on v2 as well as speed of detection, because others are finding the same thing. Can we call on you to test new versions? \o/

Laura

Hi Laura \ Shragi,

We are having the same problem with FLSMS sending out SMS very slowly, I have followed the thread and made the changes suggested but the problem persists.

Initial tests with a team of 5 went very well.

We are using a Huawei E173 USB stick.

Thanks for the help!
