Hello Everyone,

I have successfully used FrontlineSMS for the development of a Educational system using JSP. Using the system, Students can communicate with each other in an easier and faster way. If anyone needs help related to the use of FrontLineSMS for receiving and sending SMS using JSP, then please let me know. My email id is rahulmtkr@gmail.com

Regards,

Rahul Matkar.

A local telco provisions this at a premium of about $1, that is a lot  of money in this part of the world.

I need know if frontlinesms can handle "gazillion" keywords

Ah, in my experience in Canada, it seems to be billed as a local number.

This service is not available in Nigeria, and besides, it is offered a premium fee, not standard rate as it would be if deployed locally on a standard phone number

Hi Olapo, great idea! However, I believe Google may offer this service already at shortcode 466453

SMS

define meagre

I'm not sure about its international availability, it may be worth a test to see?

Hi Everyone,

Its a good feeling discovering fronlinesms, such a powerful tool I must say plus its FREE-opensource

I am looking to deploy frontlinesms in Education, the ubiquity of the mobile phones(basic phones) should drive this project to success

This project is what I call smsDictionary; a situation where you can send a word you want to look up in a dictionary as the "keyword" to a mobile number and get an sms back containing the meaning of the word like almost in real time; best for commuting hours when one has no access to to a dictionary and/or internet to look up words.

Example:

SMS

<Meagre> to 08020111111

Reply

<mea·ger adj. Deficient in quantity, fullness, or extent; scanty>

The reply would be made as basic as possible 'cos of SMS character limit. This may no be as comprehensive though, but sure will go a long way in helping to look up words' meaning as quick as possible when it matters most.

I need some clarify on whether this can be implemented using frontlinesms

Thanks.

Health & Education:

Hello Frontliners Hope all is progressing in your different projects. I´m posting in both the Forums today :)

I work in Argentina in the School of Medicine, UM (www.unimoron.edu.ar)

Is there any project aimed to pregrade medical students to assist in learning skills for clinical/hospital enviroments?

I¨d like to use Frontline Forms to collect statistical data from the public hospitals different prevalent disease to later plan for health interventions. The medical students can collect the data.

This is just one option I´d like to know if there are more creative ideas to teach medical students using SMS

All imput is greatly appreciated

Best regards

Domingo
