Hi Libby, I don't have any experience in election monitoring, but I may be able to help advise you about using FrontlineSMS and Crowdmap (Ushahidi) for the elections. Please email me at tmarente (at) gmail (dot) com. all the best.

Firstly, is anyone planning to use Frontline SMS and/or Ushahidi for the Sierra Leone elections on Sat??

Secondly, we are a small and very new media dev org and would really appreciate chatting with someone who has experience using both for election mapping. Does anyone have time to advise us?

Hi James,

Great to hear from you! Thanks for the update on your work here; sounds like you are involved in some very valuable projects. I hope you have got up and running with FrontlineSMS ok, but if you have any questions on this please feel free to ask.

You may be interested in this recently released guide which shows how to use FrontlineSMS with Ushahidi. This could be helpful for any users with election monitoring plans.

Anyway, thanks again for posting and do stay in touch \o/

Hi Election Monitoring Guys,

Am back here again! How have you been. I have been actually within the community and for the last few days i have been working on an agriculture project. Next month (Feb) i will probably embark on Election Monitoring and Reporting project for Kenya. If someone in Kenya is already working on the same, kindly let us link. I can share some experiences and human resources if need be.

Hope to hear from you good people soonest.

Hi Joseph,

There is a section in the FrontlineSMS help files about email settings which may be useful - you can find this online here (as well as within FrontlineSMS software under the Help menu option). If this doesn't give you the information you need then can I ask that you start a new discussion under the forum tab, providing as much detail as possible about the problem you are having.

Hi Joseph,

I have now started a discussion above for all in the community to share different learning and ideas on potential use FrontlineSMS in the Kenyan elections. I have replied to your questions there, so please do take a look for further info.

Hope this is helpful!

Dear Guys ! Am developing an Early Warning and Earle Response Coordination System 2012 General Election in Kenya. Our focus is Nyanza Province. The concept focuses on using existing Community Organization structure. Well, we will do very well in data and information gathering but i want to link this with Response eg. humanitarian, psycho-social etc. I was trained on the FrontlineSMS by TechChange which i have tagged to Crowdmap, follow the link ( Please if you have any advice on how i can get resources for 1) Set up a Structural Office for 13 months; 2) Identify and Train the community reporters and 3) Developing technology attached the FrontlineSMS and Ushaidi - Crowdmap.
