Hi Elie,

We hadn't thought about streaming anything from the booth but we do hope to create a video on "mHealth realities" that will be available post conference.... We'll also blog.

Hi Elie,

I'll be at the mHealth summit and leading the mHealth Reality Booth on Monday morning. I don't know what audio/video sharing will be setup but be in touch if you know someone who'll be there that might want to meet.

cheers

Isaac

In a situation were things are not exactly as you want it speaking of a poor socialwelfare system....the responsibility is on you, following the Kiwanja principles to do something for your country......I dedicate this memebership to the NGO memebers in Edo state.

Hello Nduka,

Welcome to the FrontlineSMS Forum, happy to see you here, your work sounds very interesting. One great way to get started would be to check out this link, which has a number of resources on how to begin with FrontlineSMS. There are some documents there and a couple of videos too.

http://www.frontlinesms.com/resources/resources-for-users/

You may also try searching for Nigeria in the search bar in the FLSMS Forum, you will find several FrontlineSMS users in your country that may be able to help with local knowledge.

Let us know how it goes.

Kindest regards,
Tom

Health & Education:

Hello Frontliners Hope all is progressing in your different projects. I´m posting in both the Forums today :)

I work in Argentina in the School of Medicine, UM (www.unimoron.edu.ar)

Is there any project aimed to pregrade medical students to assist in learning skills for clinical/hospital enviroments?

I¨d like to use Frontline Forms to collect statistical data from the public hospitals different prevalent disease to later plan for health interventions. The medical students can collect the data.

This is just one option I´d like to know if there are more creative ideas to teach medical students using SMS

All imput is greatly appreciated

Best regards

Domingo

@Mathias: The pieces are coming togather thanks to your info. I may pursue the keyword option. Looks like it would be helpful to limit the clicks for those in the field trying to collect and submit data quickly and effectively.

@Ruth: I see that in FSMS you can also configure the database settings. So instead of a local database, you could place i.e. a mysql database on a remote server and connect to there. So anybody using the FSMS client would need to set the settings to this database and shared access should work, I assume. It just requires that you can assure that the main computer you run FSMS on always has an internet connection available, which is maybe not always the case in Kenya I guess.

Hi Ruth, I assume the different team members are not at the same location (IT network) and therefore won't have easily access to this one excel sheet (be it read-only only), nor would you probably have any sophisticated IT environment, like a VPN. Therefore, one way is to use online forms/spreadsheet where the collected data is being sent to. There was one comment by Ray Brunsting at http://frontlinesms.ning.com/forum/topics/2052630:Topic:11785 (search for "Google Docs") who used Google Forms. This thread is already 2 years old.

Within FrontlineSMS you can define keyword actions (see the "Keywords" Tab in FSMS), which can execute certain commands or send the message content to any website (i.e. Google Form or spreadsheet) upon any incoming message containing a certain keyword.

One relevant thread my also be this one:

" How can I publish a form yet keep the spreadsheet secure?"

Hi Mathias,

I'm in the planning stage and trying to figure out the best way to handle the data once I collect it. It would reside on a local pc on Excel or Access. How can I provide visibility to the data for different team members? Ruth
