Dear members, as you might have seen from the discussion started by Gael, National Agricultural Information Services is in the process of using FrontlineSMS tool to enable farmers give feedback to radio and television programmes which the department broadcasts. The idea is to help farmers get the quickest responses to their problems. - I was brought to FrontlineSMS because I would like to find quick solutions for the farming community. I work for the department of National Agricultural Information Services in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The department disseminates agricultural information to the farming community through Radio, TV and Print. Over the years we have been receiving feedback from farmers through a feedback system which we have put in place. The problem is that it takes too long for the feedback from farmers reach the programme producers at HQ. What we want now is to have a system which can allow farmers send in their questions and be able to get a response within the shortest period of time as posible. I feel FrontlineSMS is the solutions to our problem if farmers have to get the full benefits of our programmes.

- I am an Agriculture Information Officer in the Department of National Agricultural Information Services. I have worked in the department for 19 years now. I produce Agricultural Radio and TV programmes. I am also a content manager in a small IICD suported project within the department which is looking at how ICTs can help disseminate agricultural information to the farming community and other stakeholders.
