We find FrontlineSMS an ideal tool for sharing data between users in a near zero learning curve and with high penetration as a ideal low cost including often a free method of communication. Since our prime field is forestry management and all to often in remote location, gsm is the only available technology available for the local population, moreover one that is understood and accessible. Privately and most recently I have built a school in Haiti and currently in the development of a job/employment platform for youth (But not limited to), with a focus on the informal sectors and transform a percentage into the formal sector to improve conditions and as a National goal add to the GDP. The idea is also to make Job Kiosks with databases of local skills accessible to all. This is web and 'Mobile' based, using a SMS based app for job seeker/provider contact and search tool, so far I have this developed, it is still pre-beta and needs work, but functions. The current web page is undeveloped as I am making changes, and need to re-write the script, the site will be www.jobbro.com this will include micro jobs i.e. jobs for anyone with a skill (Graphics, Cad, Art & Crafts, translation services etc) can either barter or get paid in multiples of $5 for their services. This job's drive/project is all self funded to date, so the need to patch in what I can is much needed; FrontlineSMS in this instance would be valued and can be a great part, I hope my job SMS platform can gain attention, likewise Jobbro can grow to various regions of the World. You can search jobbroHaiti on youtube and see some of the videos. Haiti is the testing ground. Unfortunately the International community or the Government has not responsive to the idea even though one of the priorities has been employment and the challenge of Youth employment - In this, I see the issue, most projects and programmes by the donor entities are a very closed group, and I am not a part of that club, however I know the power of one can reach to the many and win through, so I will forge on.

20+ years in conflict and post conflict regions. I enjoy pro-bono work and projects to assist communities, people, SME's etc. This in many ways is a distraction and therapy from my role as the reality of many aspects are hammered by restrictions; be it geopolitics, agendas of internal or external forces, corruption, or navigating the red tape/bureaucratic resistance and general risks encountered. \
I am an advocate of 'Education' being the root to the reduction of poverty, and a road to freedom for many, in turn this drive needs to focus on the geographical future and planning prospects when possible, a all to often missed factor, thus gaps and root cause of brain drain. In addition, sport, as this is a healthy tool, not only as a social addition and friendship, but a great interaction where words are not required, builds one morals, gives self control, integrity, and is a champion of engagement, win or lose, both are lessons. One of my goals is to build a MMA (Mixed martial Arts) center in the Philippines and take troubled Youth that my be in gangs or targets for gangs, redirect that energy into mind and body with an outlet that can lead to an array of employment opportunities within this sector, not limited to MMA, but sport in general.
I am currently a Director of Ecotech, founder of Jobbro and will be relocating to the Philippines as of Sept 2012. My focus in the PI will be around Agriculture as part of ETT, and naturally being a positive impact on my new local community in my private interaction.
