Why are you interested in FrontlineSMS? How did you hear about it? (To help us filter out spammers, we need as MUCH detail as possible, else we may not be able to approve your request. If you'd rather not share this information openly please email firstname.lastname@example.org before joining)
While I knew a bit about FrontlineSMS before, I really became interested after Laura Walker's presentation at the Crisis Mappers Conference in DC last fall (2012). It was then that I realized its broader applications beyond natural and humanitarian emergencies
I'm working on a project with Veterinarians Without Borders (VSF) on a Poultry program in southern Tanzania, which aims to establish sustainable livelihoods through the introduction of better breeds of chickens, training, and a regular vaccination program. The ultimate goal is to establish a revenue-producing egg co-op We want to use FSMS to collect data on chicken health and other result-based indicators, but just as importantly, to establish a true collaborative project where all participants have access to data, can send questions, etc.
I know want to migrate our operations through the current FSMS software, and to test the android tool for an upcoming field visit to the project site.

I am currently pursuing an Erasmus Mundus MSc in Geospatial Technologies in Portugal, Germany, and Spain. I'm Canadian who normally lives in Ottawa with his partner and cat. Before turning to GIS, I pursued graduate studies in anthropology and archaeology, and worked for the Canadian Federal government in the promotion of Canadian Heritage, and in International Development (Results-based management and education initiatives for our Afghanistan program).
