- I am a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Nicaragua looking to start a sexual reproductive health hotline in Nicaragua which will serve mainly the youth and rural communities. Nicaragua has high rates of teenage pregnancy and low perceived risk of HIV transmission which are both fueled by inaccurate beliefs about pregnancy and STI transmission. Furthermore, the youth have been shown to be hesitant to approach health professionals for more information. We hope this hotline will provide a safe, anonymous and secure mode of sexual and reproductive health education.
