Why are you interested in FrontlineSMS? How did you hear about it? (To help us filter out spammers, we need as MUCH detail as possible, else we may not be able to approve your request. If you'd rather not share this information openly please email email@example.com before joining)
We have needed a system for our many SMSs for Radio Kahuzi. On Twitter I found your info with Bill Gates Foundation, if I'm not mistaken. We treat War and Peace, Reconciliation and Transition with some success in D R Congo and Central Africa, along with Agriculture, Health, Development, Human Rights and Protection of Women and Children, Water, Conservation, Environment, Family, and Spiritual Life and Customs, with our 300 Radio Clubs. Until now we have cartons of paper as archives of our correspondence / messaging. This should help us serve Central Africa better.
Tell us about you. (Please also add an image to your profile)
Radio Kahuzi opened the air waves of the Zaire / D R Congo to it's first private, non-governmental radio, 4 July 1991, with a Presidential Decree that opened that closed door. Richard & Kathleen McDonald just now received the "NRB International Media Impact Award for 2010," and from HCJB Global, the "Timothy Award" for excellence & initiative. We continue to distribute free more than 15,000 Galcom rechargeable, solar FM and Short Wave Radios, that are fix-tuned to our frequencies, 6210 KHz short wave and 91.1 and 102.1 MHz FM.
Richard, I'm working with the FrontlineSMS team and others, researching and testing a media (esp radio) focused FrontlineSMS tool for enabling better interactions with listening audiences. If you are interested in what we're up to after we've done early piloting, please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org. best, Sharath
