FrontlineSMS version 1 - Help files in PDF?

Hi everyone,I will be doing some training with an aboriginal community that will be using FrontlineSMS to support a children's camp in their community. As part of the training, I would like to provide them with some how-to documents. The Help documents (in HTML) in the program itself are great. Does anyone have these documents as a PDF rather than this HTML version? Thanks!See More

Reminders function issue - version 1

I have searched back on some older discussion posts regarding the Reminders function, but didn't quite see a solution to my issue. Our project is based on an academic (University of Alberta's MARS Lab) and community agency partnership that hopes to improve social support and information access for local sex trade workers here in our city. Community partners each have their own SMS message that we want to run on a rotating schedule. We have it all set up so that the reminder is sent to Test…See More

Using FrontlineSMS to address the needs of people with disabilities and their families in Colombia

I want to take a moment to share about a collaborative, community-based research project between the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada), the University of Rosario (Bogota, Colombia) and the community of El Codito in northern Bogota. El Codito is a mountainside community located on the perimeter of Bogota, characterized by low socio-economic status, limited access to municipal services such as electricity and sewage, and high crime rates. People in El Codito, especially people with…See More

Sierra Compass 885 versus Huawei E-series

Hello FrontlineSMS community. This is a short post to share my experiences with two GSM modems, the Sierra Compass 885 and the Huawei E-series.These are the only two dongles that I have used with FrontlineSMS and had a very different experience with each of them. Sierra Compass 885Once the drivers and 3G watcher were installed, this modem works without a hiccup. It was not necessary to have the 3G watcher open in order to connect to the mobile network in FrontlineSMS. The team that I am working…See More

The "Text To Change" platform - anyone used it?

Hi there, I am new to this community and have been using FrontlineSMS for about 8 months. My use has only been within very controlled trial environments, but ultimately hope to implement a project in Colombia starting in August. Our project is hoping to address the isolation experienced by people with disabilities and their families in an under-resourced community of the perimeter of Bogota. The goal is to improve health information access and reduce social isolation for this population. I know…See More

I am a graduate student at the University of Alberta in the department of Rehabilitation Science. I am researching the use of basic mobile phones to improve access to health information and decrease social isolation for people with disabilities and their families in Colombia. This research is a collaborative effort between the University of Alberta and the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia.
The implementation phase is planned to begin August 2012.
