Vodafone rant / warning

I am running a workshop in Nigeria this coming Monday, and wanted to showcase FrontlineSMS. I installed the software and went out to get a dongle. I happened to find a good deal at Vodafone. I asked the guy at the shop if it would allow me to send and receive SMSs, and he said yes (this was, btw, at the Brunswick centre shop,

I go home happy as a bee, install FrontlineSMS, plug in my dongle. The software identifies the device. I eagerly type in a number and send a… Continue

I noticed something about an mLearning workshop @ eLearning Africa on your website. Is that for this year's conference in May? I only ask as I'll be attending - hopefully, along w/some fellow colleagues @ Jhpiego - and would be interested in participating. At the very least, it would be great to meet up :)

Hi ya! If you're looking more generally then I guess best leave it where it is! See what response you get (can be hit and miss). We don't have much more information on uses, over and above the Guest Posts, I'm afraid. We will start collecting more data over the course of the year.

As for the Beta, this is still very much work in progress (and testing is still being done), so we can't support it right now. If you're happy to give it a go and are okay figuring it out for yourself, you can get it here:

The draft "Help" for the Ushahidi tab is here:

Good luck, and be sure to have a Star beer on me in Nigeria. \o/

Hi Yashay

You might be better off removing that general Discussion post and putting something in the "Education" group, which is specifically for people interested in FrontlineSMS in education. You might also want to ask about any good stories in the use of FrontlineSMS in this area, since this is the focus of the site.
