Compatible modems with AT&T and/or United States

Hello all,

we've been having compatibility issues in the states.  Huawei is allegedly not supported in the US, especially with AT&T from what I have read.  There was a forum in which someone was trying to use a Sierra modem with AT&T but it went unresolved.

We would like to reopen discussion to those trying to use FrontlineSMS in the United States through US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or even H2O).  What modem will cooperate with the US, US phone…

Detecting Modem

Is there anyway to have a modem autodetect without having to press "Detect Modem" in frontlineSMS?

I have frontlineSMS running fine and my modem works well on a desktop in the office. However when I go home each night the PC is set to go into standby mode to save power. Upon returning to work and waking up the PC FrontlineSMS is still running in the browser but the modem status eventually goes red and a message "nul' appears at the top.

I then have to manually press…

Optimal computer settings for frontlinesms on Mac and Windows

We are running frontlinesms on several computers (Mac and Windows). Each computer is a little different in age and specs, but all can run frontlinesms. When installing frontlinesms on the Mac it wouldn't work properly until we changed the settings to 32-bit mode. Are there any other computer settings like these that would help frontlinesms run more smoothly?

Thank you,

Reminders plugin not sending SMS after program is closed or computer is turned off

Hello, we are running frontlineSMS on both Mac's and PCs. On both systems, if frontlineSMS is closed or if the computer shuts down the reminders no longer send. Then we have to re-create them all over again. Is there anything we can do about this? This is particularly problematic for our computers in South Africa.

Are there any optimal setting for Macs and PCs when using frontlineSMS

Thank you for your help.

connecting to HUAWEI modem

Hi, I have just purchased a HUAWEI modem to run with FrontlineSMS on my Mac.

Im having no luck in connecting the 2 so I can begin sending and receiving SMSs with FrontlineSMS.

There is no airtime/credit on the SIM in the HUAWEI modem, is this the problem? I cannot seem to get a mobile connection with the modem either, only through Ethranet adaptor

I am completely new to this and most of it is jargon I have never heard of!

Please help

Cutting through Red Tape Little by Little.

We finally heard back from CONISIDA, the Nicaraguan Commission on Aids run by the Ministry of Health, whom we presented our project to about a month ago and whom we need permission from to run ChatSalud. They sent us a series of edits--nothing major--which our team is working on this week. With any luck, we'll be moving forward shortly.

ChatSalud: A Nicaraguan Revolution of a Different Kind

According to the International Telecommunication Union, approximately 8 out of 10 Nicaraguans have cell phones (ITU 2011).  And according to the Nicaraguan Dispatch, all 153 municipalities have cell phone coverage (17 Sept. 2012).  This means that if you live in a city or out in the most rural…
