New FrontlineSMS server set up in Phnom Penh - Soft launch till end of Sep

Greetings,

Happy to share a good news from Phnom Penh, Cambodia!
Now I manage to setup a new FrontlneSMS server here in Phnom Penh Capital. Today. And we also managed to have remote acess worked 100% fine, so Rob from OZ can have access to the server and build up on the database.

We are planning to have it go ONLINE next month. It will be used to support Rob's existing project in agriculture/farming sector. Now, we are in our soft launch phase :)

Another thing that I wish to see in the near future is the new release of FrontlineSMS with Khmer language support! Do let me know when it's out - with a link to download :D

Cheers,

Vantharith, Thanks. I have set up FL on a PC with a GSM modem and have set up Logmein. Works fine. Have you figured out how to remotely download the messages?

I want to use 4 incoming and outgoing SMS numbers off the same server. Any insight on that?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for dropping by with this question. In fact, there 2 separate things here - 1) FLSMS server and 2) Remote desktop (internet connection required).

For the remote desktop, there's a free service offered by logmein.com. For my project, I need the server to be able to be accessed remotely as my project team is based in Australia as we both need to monitor and maintain the server together.

In summary, we need:
* Running FLSMS server, 24/7 or up to your agreement/arrangement
* Reliable internet connection
* Remote desktop/access - you can try the free account of logmein.com. But it's somehow limited, so you might consider the pro one with some fee.

Hope this helps. Cheers,

How are you setting up a server to access FL remotely?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for your comment. Yes the Khmer language translation is already down and submitted to Ken. That's why I'm so excited to see it in the next release.

Cheers,

Vantharith

Hi Vantarith,

Just looking through older threads -- looks like we're all set for Khmer language support! =) The team has the file, and it will be included in the next release.

Thanks,

Josh

Congrats!

Good luck, and please keep us updated. Regarding Khmer language support, feel free to email me at josh@frontlinesms.com, and we'll work through the steps together. Basically, we'll need to find someone to translate a text file, line by line - which we'll then plug into FLSMS.
