Thanks Josh for the link - I just reviewed the video for 'patient view' - I believe we can use this program to build simple record of the medical history of the kids we are supporting in Kisii.
Thanks so much - this has the potential of helping us a great deal.

Hey Josh, not sure where you are located, but would be happy to meet with you some time if you'd like to hear about our project. Our main office is near Dupont Circle, but I am spending a lot of time at our other site right now in South DC past Anacostia. Feel free to shoot me an email at scha@legacyforhealth.org and we can arrange something. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip on downloading your video from Vimeo.
I was in India last week with Oasis and they are psyched about using FrontlineSMS.
Cheers

Now you have diversified from one to many.Great work.It will be better if you can create an awareness module among NGO community here. What do you say??
HiJosh thanks for the groups. I was wondering if we could add one that is about accountability: access to information and/or government policies and budget/policy monitoring. This is the area I hope to employ FrontlineSMS in some day...

My name John Chibuye and please help were you are good in community.

Dear Josh
My first note to you was in response to the Project Summary which made reference to August 9th. I know Malawi a bit from 20 years ago, and am very much aware how valuable your work can be. I am also aware that when things break they may well stay that way because there is not enough local experience to fix things.
As I understand it your SMS dataflows are timely and free form and help CHWs enormously by getting relevant support ... and example of community informing "upwards" to get the right intervention.
But are there data that could flow up that would inform those of us who are not in Malawi about the cost and value of what you are doing month after month after month ... showing how valuable a program that engages CHWs is relative to a typical donor funded study of the some new health policy initiative to be recommended for 2015!
I have some ideas about how FronlineSMS could be used to be the dataflow tool for malaria surveillance and intervention (integrated malaria management) ... but want all sorts of fund flows to be initiated about issues that impact communities ... market prices for example ... incidents of violence ... etc
Some of this is on the Tr-Ac-Net website ... some is in various stages of being written up! Bottom line ... I am trying to figure out how to be the (virtual remote) CFO of a community and get resources used in the best possible way ... and being a former cost accountant I like the salary level of volunteer CHWs and their productivity when they are trained appropriately and given critical support!
Peter
Dear Josh
What you are doing in Malawi is exciting ... but how does your effort continue in perpetuity ... especially the information dimension? Tr-Ac-Net and Community Accountancy could be part of the answer.
Peter
My name is Ditshego, Ken referred me to your page. I am based in South Africa. I am currently using frontlinesms to assist Tsogang Water and Sanitation, an NGO based in Limpopo to communicate through sms. The Director wants me to assist with a campaign to collect old cell phones so that he can distribute to members of the different project committees. Ken indicated that you manage to get donors who provided you with cell phones for your project in Malawi. Is it possible to share with me how you went about and also the possibility of linking me them?
FrontlineSMS allows you to text message with large groups of people anywhere there is a mobile signal.
