Comment by Darlington Kahilu on January 27, 2010 at 1:41am: I am a content manager in a small ITCs project in the dapartment of National Agricultural Information Services in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives here in Zambia. My department's madate is to disseminate agricultural information to the farming community through mass media. One of the channels is radio, as this is the most appropriate means through which we can reach the rural farmers.
Our challenge is to reach the farmers effectively through our radio programmes. At the moment farmers listen to the programmes very well and they send in writen programme discusion report forms back to the producers as a way of feedback. The problem is that this feedback takes too long to reach the producers.
So we have settled for FrontlineSMS tool for feedback as it seems to answer our concerns. What we want is to link to any one of you on this dgroup who would know where we can buy all the required equipment. We want to have the server, mobile phones and all that is needed for this tool.
I will be more than glad to hear from any one as soon as possible.
